Previous Work

In 2026 we collaborated with Haringey Shed on their 25th anniversary performance The Silver Hive, an original production co-written by Haringey Shed Writers Room and Creative Director Shereen Jasmin Phillips, with dramaturgy by Applied Scripted Arc.

Sessions took place over several months, culminating in a celebratory participant-led performance at Alexandra Palace featuring over 90 young people aged 7-25, 30% of whom are disabled or have special educational needs. Performed to an audience of 820 people, it was the highest-selling show in Haringey Shed’s history.

In partnership with Untold Creative Training as part of the Young Vic’s Punch Wraparound Programme, we worked with 11 young people across 14 workshops on playwriting project Flipping the Script, led by award-winning writer and Lead Artist Emma Dennis-Edwards, which ran from January - April 2025.  Together, they wrote a short play titled Seven Eleven directed by Matthew Xia, performed at the Young Vic and HMP Isis.

AiTopia was the first show from The Collective, a 50-strong cohort of multi-disciplinary artists from Southwark and Lambeth, led by director Michelle Payne. This epic project disrupted traditional conventions of theatre-making, exploring new models centred on community and collaboration.

Launched in June 2024, The Collective consisted of artists who have all been part of the Young Vic Taking Part Neighbourhood Theatre project within the last five years. The Collective brought together people from all walks of life covering a range of artistic skills and interests, from acting, writing, sound and lighting design, to movement, production and Set & Costume. Meeting every week for 4 terms across 8 months, members of the group developed key skills in devising, curation, design, and the core building blocks required in the creation of a show.

Creative Direction & Producing

TWENTY TWENTY (2020)

"This trio of films are full of joy and kindness and each one has a ticklish sense of humour" - Lyn Gardner

TWENTY TWENTY was a year-long collaboration between Young Vic Taking Part and Blackfriars Settlement, Certitude and Thames Reach, designed to foster in-depth creative relationships with communities in Lambeth and Southwark. Each group worked with a director & writer to develop three new plays which were set to be performed at the Young Vic at the end of 2020. The project then shifted online in response to the pandemic - workshops in halls became zoom meetings, warm ups and dance routines were performed in bedrooms and kitchens, and ideas and scripts were shared in the post, on email, via text. Resolutely committed to creating three pieces of work to mark the end of this meaningful partnership, the Young Vic and each of the community organisations collaborated with their director and writer to create short films, shot in socially-distanced conditions.

A promenade performance piece created to celebrate 25 years of Taking Part, Of The Cut fused film, stage, sound & story to shine a light on the voices and stories of the Young Vic’s community members through the lens of magical realism, offering an insight into the many lives lived on and around The Cut.
